Activewear brands aren't the only ones busting out with their own shops. Made-in-LA label Bailey44 is expanding beyond department stores this year by opening standalone boutiques and more.
Known for its effortlessly sleek silhouettes made from luxe jersey, silk, and eco leather, the contemporary women's brand—which is stocked at Saks, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and others—is rolling out a 1,700-square-foot boutique at buzzing Newport Beach development Lido Marina Village by the end of the year. Its expansion plan also includes possible shops in LA's Studio City and Century City and NYC's Tribeca.
The industry trade pub also notes that Bailey44 hopes to "steal buzz...from other advanced contemporary labels like Acne Studios and Alexander Wang" with a higher-end offshoot dubbed 44, which will range from $300 to $1500.
