East Coast Yoga Craze Y7 Is Popping Up at Rebecca Minkoff's Melrose Shop

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

As if Rebecca Minkoff's highly-anticipated Melrose shop isn't already jam-packed with rad features (high-tech dressing rooms, athleisure offerings, rotating art), the Cali-bred designer is teaming up with an East Coast essential to serve our city's stylish fitness fiends. From August 25th through August 31st, Brooklyn's Y7 is popping up at the store and bringing its signature approach to yoga that "perfectly fuses heat, beat bumping
hip hop music and candlelight. This will be Y7's first time on the West Coast.

"We are beyond grateful and humbled by the success we've experienced so far with our three studios in New York," explains co-founder Sarah Levey. "We knew it was only a matter of time before we found a way to bring our method to Los Angeles."

As for what to expect from Y7's temporary installation, they tell us that the brand will "transform the back room of Minkoff's LA store into a curated experience that echoes that of its flagship, including vinyl installations, with some added West Coast influences." Additional perks include two VIP classes, as well as public sessions Wednesday morning through Sunday, complete with Sakara Life grub and Eat Pops treats post-workout. See below for class times and booking info.
