ECHO PARK—We're big fans of babes who rock, so imagine our excitement when we learned about trendy retailer American Apparel's collab with indie record label Burger Records. Together they teamed up for a cool, music-inspired lookbook and now the Echo Park AA location (2121 W Sunset Boulevard) will host a pop-up shop and preview party this Saturday for Burger A-Go-Go, a female-fronted music festival. From 3-7pm, print custom tees and shop select vinyl while you enjoy some killer live performances by a few of the festival's participants: The Aquadolls, La Sera, Winter, and Avalon Lurks.
MALIBU—Beach-lovin' brand Gypsy 05 knows that in Southern California, summer never really dies. Though the season's stint on the calendar (technicalities!) is coming to a close, the clothing line's Malibu County Mart location (3835 Cross Creek Road) is keeping those sunny vibes going with a block party this Sunday from 12-3pm. Stop by to save on select styles from the shop, but that's not the only treat. Upgrade your hairdo with colored chalk, a braid, or blowout from the Style Bar, receive a personalized tarot card reading, decorate your bod with metallic temporary tattoos by Kitsch, munch on sweets by Coolhaus and Sprinkles, and peruse a trunk show featuring jewelry by Arik Kastan.
