Mystic hippies or not, Venice's many bohemian boulevards make it an easy choice for mindful shoppers. Adding to the laid-back enclave's vegan retail therapy options is New York's Vaute Couture, which is popping up on Abbot Kinney for two months starting Saturday, August 29th.

Founded by animal rights activist-turned-designer (and former model) Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart, the brand was one of the first all-vegan labels to show at NY Fashion Week. The PETA-approved label is known for its charming silhouettes crafted organic, recycled, and high-tech fabrics, like animal-free winter coats, retro print dresses, sleek men's button-downs, and more.

Hilgart tells us the temporary shop will hold court through Wednesday, October 21st; stay tuned for grand opening party deets.

Vaute Couture will be open daily from 11am to 7pm except on Saturday, August 29th, when it will be open from 1 to 7pm.
