Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Shyp is taking its goal to become the Uber of shipping one step further. Following in the footsteps of the transportation app's one-day partnership with the nonprofit organization back in May, Shyp is hooking up free Goodwill donations in LA now through August 6th. This is off the heels of a previous Goodwill collab back on the company's SF stomping grounds.
Here's how it works: select your gently-used clothing and houseware donations, update your Shyp app to the latest version. When you're ready for Shyp to scoop your package (their couriers can take up to two 13-gallon bags per pickup). Tap 'Add Shipment' and select Goodwill as your recipient, snap a photo of your donations, and request the pick up. For optimum closet-cleaning, you can request as many pickups as you'd like.
