Last week, Rick Owens revealed that he was opening a boutique in LA that was set to open "soon." Although the Cali-bred, Paris-based designer seemed tight-lipped about the exact opening date, a trusted tipster tells us that the massive shop might open within one or two weeks. Yes!
Located just south of the heart of Hollywood at 819 N. La Brea Ave. (right next door to Jet Rag), the 5,200-square-foot flagship features an all-white exterior and a modular-meets-industrial design, a signature of frequent Owens collaborator and architect Anna Tumaini. The entrance of the shop is framed in gray on the side of the building, where a small lot offers a handful of parking spaces.
As mentioned, the "Cecil B. DeMille-worthy" store will boast concrete flooring, high ceilings, a fog-emitting wall, and "a water tank releasing slow-motion bubbles." No word yet if the space—like the draping mastermind's other global outposts—will feature a (borderline creepy?) mannequin of the designer himself. Stay tuned for more!
