BEVERLY GROVE—Are you one of those stubborn singles who's sworn off online dating? Well this Friday Citizens of Culture and I Love Creatives combine forces to offer a fun, face-to-face event for you to meet and mingle with potential suitors. "No Pressure, No Shame," which takes place from 9pm to midnight at Farmer's Daughter Hotel (115 S Fairfax Avenue), features interactive games that focus on the elements we humans often use to select a mate (body language, conversation) but also compare/contrast lifestyles, goals, and dating expectations. Tickets (purchased here) are $15 and include food and drink to keep guests satiated. At the end of the night, one lucky pair will even be selected for a complimentary overnight stay in the hotel's "No Tell" suite—loaded with goodies from sponsors Down App, Parachute Home, ME Undies, Swig flasks, and Glyde Vegan Fair Trade Condoms—and breakfast the next morning at Tart to boot! All gender and sexual orientations are welcome, but attendees must be of legal drinking age to participate.
HIGHLAND PARK—Yesterday we filled you in on designer Dana Haim's pompom workshop at Space 15 Twenty this Thursday (details here). If a DIY day is your idea of a good time but can't make that event, Haim will host another class Saturday at HP's luxe label-filled boutique Nonna (6187 N Figueroa Street). This Knit Wit Magazine hosted event takes place from 11am-2pm. The $150 ticket fee (get yours here) includes a gift bag, bento box lunch from Gorumando, and all the materials you'll need to whip up the pompom creation of your dreams. Additionally, Nonna is offering a special discount for attendees interested in some in-store shopping.
PASADENA—Shoppers of womenswear boutique Elisa B. have been rejoicing their chic in-store finds from luxe labels like Helmut Lang and Loeffler Randall for some time now. Tomorrow, there's even more reason to celebrate when the shop holds a Grand Opening party for its new location (16 E Holly Street). After a stint away, Elisa B. is back in its original Old Pasadena 'hood and will be offering tons of goodies for shoppers who attend the 6-9pm festivities. Chill out with refreshments (including an out-of-this-world signature cocktail) and tunes by DJ DRoC, sneak a peek at new Fall arrivals and save on select summer styles, enter to win a gift basket worth bragging about, and if you're one of the first 20 to arrive, score a special gift. Anyone who brings a classic Eliza B. reusable back or wears something purchases at the original store receives an additional 10% off.
