DTLA—Saavy trend forecasters and avid Pinterest and blogger babes probably already know that the coolest floral arrangements of late are more influenced by the random nature of wildflowers than they are perfectly composed. Enter local floral design studio, Wild Vase. Ever inspired by California's lush landscape (founder Alice Goldsmith is a Malibu native), the company keeps its focus on fresh, local blooms. Starting this Saturday, you get can your hands on one of their dreamy creations when Wild Vase heads to the Ace Hotel (929 S Broadway) for a weekend-long pop-up in the Upstairs lounge. Beginning at 11am, shop the inspired arrangements or customize your own flower crown or terrarium. The floral festivities continue Sunday.
WEST HOLLYWOOD—If you're a style-obsessed gal looking for a serious schooling in the fashion world or trying to get your stiletto-heeled foot in the door, we've got good news. The Grove (189 The Grove Drive) will be offering a boot camp courtesy of the International Style Institute—in October. If you just can't wait that long, we've got even better news; the shopping center will hold a 3-hour styling workshop from Simply Stylist this Saturday. Learn about the tools the pros can't do without and how to put together your own kit, as well as tips on building your portfolio from an industry vet willing to spill her secrets. $50 gets you the 11am-2pm session along with parking validation, appetizers, and drinks. Simply Stylist keeps these courses small and intimate (usually capped off at 50 attendees) so interested ladies should hurry up and grab tickets here.
