Exclusive: Inside Wanderlust's Mindblowing Wellness Mecca in Hollywood

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

It's here! After months of anticipation, Wanderlust's 10,000-square-foot, three-level community center and wellness oasis will officially open to the public this Friday, July 24th. We took a tour of the space at yesterday's private opening party and can confirm that the global yoga event producer has truly outdone itself by creating a unique zen escape in the heart of Hollywood.

Upon entering the studio, you're immediately greeted by the gorgeous Wanderlust Café, curated by award-winning chef Seamus Mullen. There you can order healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and on-the-go items, as well as fair trade coffee, Kombucha, and cold-pressed juice. Patrons have the option to dine inside or enjoy the tranquil outdoor patio.

Also on the first floor is an edited selection of shoppable items, including Wanderlust-branded apparel, Spiritual Gangster workout wear, Vaalbara bags, and Veronica Rose healing jewelry. To the left of retail is what Wanderlust calls The Greatest Place—a massive, 3,800-square-foot event space where all the magic happens.

The Greatest Place

At the foot of the stairs leading to the second floor, a portrait of renowned Kundalini yogi and Golden Bridge co-founder Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa hangs on the wall—Wanderlust co-founder Jeff Krasno's honorable tribute to the beloved yoga studio that formerly inhabited the space. Floor Two features a gallery, a space for meditation called The Lab, and a members-only lounge called The Library, where select guests can read, work, and drink various libations in peace. (Membership pricing is available upon request.)

Finally, the third floor features fully-equipped men's and women's changing rooms, showers, and locker facilities. There's also The Haven, a well-lit room for yoga and meditation sessions ($23 drop-in, $105 five-class card, $199 ten-class card, $169 monthly unlimited).

Explore Wanderlust Hollywood above, and buy tickets for the grand opening weekend here. Events include a Prana Vinyasa Flow yoga class tomorrow at 7pm that's followed by live hip hop, reggae, and electronic music by MC Yogi from 8:30pm to 10pm, and a Vinyasa Flow Asana on Saturday at 7pm that's followed by a must-see solo DJ set by Rob Garza of Thievery Corporation from 8:30pm to 10pm.
