BEVERLY GROVE—There's practically no one who rocks denim better than fashion icon/muse Alexa Chung, so it comes as so surprise that AG tapped the it-girl to design a line. Her first collection for the brand was released earlier this year, and the cool pieces sold like hotcakes. This Thursday marks the launch of Chung's new Fall '15 collection and luxe retailer Ron Herman (8100 Melrose Avenue) will be celebrating with an in-store event. From 6:30-8:30pm, guests can shop the new jeans and tees, learn more about the line in a Q&A with the babe herself, and enjoy some refreshments. While RSVPs are not required, those who send one to Krissie@RonHerman.com by end of day Wednesday will have priority entrance to what's sure to be a packed event.
DTLA—Fig at 7th's (735 S Figueroa Street) weekly summer festival continues this Friday when the shopping center features "Soulection: The Sound of Tomorrow," an outdoor concert that includes the likes of Joe Kay, Andre Power, Sosuper Sam, Esta, SPZRKT, and Chris McClenney. The fun starts as early as 4pm when the Taste Happy Hour offers delectable treats at discounted prices ($7 tempura soba noodles and fountain drink at Gentaro Soba or buy-one-get-one-half-off frozen goodies at Pazzo Gelato to name a few) until 7pm, at which point you can head into the Plaza bar for cocktails. The free show begins at 8pm.
