Abbot Kinney has gone from a low-key bohemian boulevard to a high-end magnet of global and local labels, so it's no surprise that Open the Kimono chose to debut on buzzing stretch. Landing next door to Satine, the new LA loungewear label is opening its first boutique this Saturday.
The brand was dreamed up by former Joie designer Ibby Hartley, who brings a global-meets-SoCal twist to traditional Japanese kimonos. Made from silk-like rayon challis, each print-happy piece is one-of-a-kind and handmade in Venice. Welcome the shop to the block this Sunday, when the designer will be mingling with shoppers.
Open the Kimono will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 12 to 6:30pm.
