West Third Street's retail therapy itinerary will soon have a few vacancies to fill. After six years on the celebrity-frequented shopping stretch, beach bohemian designer Lotta Stensson is packing up her flagship boutique.
The star-faved designer—known for her flowy silk kaftans and fest-ready dresses—is pretty up front with the reason why: the shop's windows are plastered with "Lost Our Lease" flyers noting that "#greedylandlordssuck." Merch is currently marked down to 50% off, and staff tell us there'll be more discounts until the store closes Sunday, August 30th. We're told Stensson is hoping to reopen elsewhere next spring if she doesn't find a new space before summer ends.
A few doors over, contemporary boutique Jane—which specializes in Cali-cool basics under $100—is slated to close tomorrow. A store employee reveals that the shop won't be relocating, but its locations in Santa Monica and Tarzana will stay put.
