Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Although we're still feeling the void left from her essential boutique's departure, shop owner and designer Melissa Akkaway is making good on her promise to keep dressing us properly. From this Thursday, June 11th to Sunday, June 14th, her tomboy-cool label Beckley is popping up at throwback treasure trove Decades for four days of retail therapy, DIY activities, and more.
In addition to shopping Beckley's spring collection of luxe, laid-back essentials, the weekend pop-up also includes a host of hands-on events. Thursday from 4 to 7pm, party with FRIENDOFAFRIEND and enjoy gratis cocktails, bites, and DIY summer hat making. Then on Friday from 11am to 1pm, chill with Racked LA's own senior editor (and founder of stylish mommy network Fashion Mamas LA) Natalie Alcala as she hosts an afternoon of shopping, plus enjoy feathered brow touch-ups by celeb-faved salon Striiike and fresh-pressed juice.
On Saturday from 1 to 3pm, indulge in artisanal cold treats by Sweet Rose Creamery and craft your own succulent arrangements with DIY floral bar Fleurish. Want in? RSVP is required for Thursday's grand opening bash; get on the list by shooting a note to rsvp@maguiresteele.com.
