FASHION DISTRICT—Designers & Agents is an uber-curated trade fair for international independent designers. This week the event returns to Los Angeles, the location for its first showing 15 years ago. From Monday through Wednesday (10am-6pm Monday/Tuesday and 10am-5pm Wednesday), the Fall II/Holiday 2015 installment of D&A visits the New Mart Building (127 E 9th St), highlighted by an appearance from eco-friendly designer Reet Aus who will be exhibiting his latest upcycled collection, made completely from leftover materials and waste. No need to pre-register, buyers and visitors should just present their business card at the front desk upon entering.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD—Because Lydia Deetz is a quintessential emo babe and because we can't resist an 80's throwback, we won't be missing the nostalgic good times at 7:30pm this Tuesday when Latin-inspired eatery Bow & Truss (11122 Magnolia Blvd) kicks of their summer screening series with classic comedy Beetlejuice. For a $15 ticket, guest get a themed drink and dessert and take in the flick on the patio. Win prizes during a rousing trivia game and if you're feeling especially fearless, show up dressed as your fave character. Reserve your spot by emailing movienight@bowandtruss.com with your name, phone number and best time to call, the size of your party, and the movie title and date of screening.
