Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
During our tour of Wildfox's fantastical flagship last September, CEO Jimmy Sommers exclusively revealed to us that the celebrated LA label was set to open it's next retail location at the eternally beachy Malibu Country Mart. After months of keeping progress on the DL, Wildfox is finally ready to unleash its sophomore storefront later this spring. We hear that the Malibu location will carry all of the brand's iconic bestsellers, including ultra-soft graphic tees, tanks, jumpers, dresses, and bottoms, eyewear, denim, swimwear, and kids.
As for décor, expect more of the same magic from its Sunset Strip location, but with a coastal twist. "The space will be inspired by our beach customer," adds store designer Katie Hurley of Fineas+Clover. "The Wildfox girl can always be found by the ocean."
Visitors to this soon-to-be Malibu must-stop can look forward to an eclectic fusion of "locally sourced, vintage pieces with modern accents," as well as "antique Mastercraft brass tables and delicate vintage china displays with etched filigree mirrors and hand blown glass chandeliers." So fancy!
