Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In this city, where the cotton candy sunsets and trail of palm trees provide the perfect backdrop to a summer evening, an outdoor movie screening is not only an ideal outing — it's an LA rite of passage. And super lucky for us, there's a crapload of them to take advantage of.

That said, we've taken the liberty of gathering some of the best viewing sessions in town, so regardless of if your preference it poolside with craft cocktails and gourmet treats or copping a squat on the grass with your squad while snacking on junk food, there's definitely a spot — and a fun flick! — for you enjoy here. Don't forget to check back throughout the summer, as we'll be adding to this list as more outdoor screenings emerge.
