We round up the week's coolest events so you don't have to.

Simply Vuela

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

HISTORIC CORE—We're already fans of DTLA's Althouse (761 S Main Street), a minimally designed boutique curated with luxe labels like Grey Ant, Samantha Pleet, Lizzy Disney, and house-brand ALT. As if the shop wasn't giving us enough reasons to raid its racks, this Saturday it will host a pop-up for online accessories and wares retailer Vuela. Featuring local and international designers, the 12-6pm event will offer items like stunning ceramic vessels, cool women's apparel, and hand-dyed textiles. But wait, there's more! In addition to shopping the pop-up, attendees can enjoy a glass of champagne, scope out Althouse's pre-Fall arrivals, and save on end-of-season inventory.

SANTA MONICA—Don't let the name fool you, Mr. Kate is a lifestyle brand headed by blonde babe Kate Albrecht, whose penchant for DIY projects have earned her online popularity, and now a book deal. In celebration of the release of the latter, A Hot Glue Gun Mess, the hilarious and crafty author will appear for a book signing at Forever 21 (1431 3rd Street Promenade) this Saturday from 1-3pm. The first 50 guests will earn a pack of Beautymarks, the brand's whimsical foil tattoos, and everyone can enter to win a $150 gift card to F21.

WEST HOLLYWOOD—Get your lingerie game on lock with some of the sexiest styles of intimates and loungewear at stellar prices starting this Monday when Naked Princess' flagship store (653 N La Cienega Boulevard) begins their Summer Sale. Featuring up to 70% off select items, the super shopping event continues through July 12th.

SILVER LAKE—This Saturday shoes won't be the only vegan thing MooShoes (3116 W Sunset Boulevard) will be serving up. From 12-6pm, Southern Fried Vegan makes an appearance at the footwear boutique to kick off the first weekend of summer with some of their most beloved animal-free foods, Fried Chickun Waffle Sandwiches and GF Mac N Cheeze. A portion of both food and shoe sales for the day will benefit Resistance Ecology, an organization which promotes grassroots efforts for animal liberationists.
