Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The next time you explore Highland Park's stylish York Boulevard, make it a point to wander east to Figueroa. New boutique Nonna quietly opened a month or so ago, bringing minimalist and sleek womenswear by indie designers t the cool NELA 'hood.

Founded by film & TV costume designer Olivia Perez, the 600-square-foot shop reflects "the Los Angeles woman as I know her—someone who is modern, feminine, [and] appreciates ease as well as sophistication," she tells us. The interiors were inspired by Perez's childhood in Miami with touches like an '80s glass table on a oversized plush rug and pastel pottery filled with greenery. As far as merch, expect to find apparel, footwear, and accessories by labels like Rachel Comey, Jesse Kamm, A Détacher, Lizzy Disney, and many other lady-led brands.

Swing by the shop Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 6pm (closed Sunday and appointment-only Monday); the shop's currently hosting a spring/summer sale with up to 50% off merch.
