Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

One of the ways we give ourselves a psychological green light to acquire even more stuff is by getting rid of things—which can be especially difficult when you want to cash in on that pricey side table but have severe Craigslistphobia. Enter Move Loot, a stylish furniture consignment e-shop that's now servicing LA.

The process works like this: sellers submit a photo of their goods and set a price via Move Loot's app; if approved, movers pick up the furniture (minimum $200 resale value) for free. The e-shop will handle the pro photography and manage listings, and once items are sold, you'll earn 50 to 70% of the final earnings.

For shoppers, the site offers a variety of decor styles, from contemporary to mid-century modern to industrial and more. After you buy an item, Move Loot can deliver your new couch or coffee table as soon as 24 hours.

Dig it? Learn more about the selling here, shop the site here, and check out Move Loot's full Los Feliz-inspired lookbook (styled by SF Girl By Bay blogger Victoria Smith) here.
