Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

To give us all a taste of what to expect from its West Hollywood flagship studio opening this August next door to Pressed Juicery at 8714 Santa Monica Boulevard, Basecamp Fitness is hooking up complimentary workouts at Pan Pacific Park (7600 Beverly Boulevard) every weekend, starting this Saturday, June 20th at 11am.

If you're not familiar with the popular sweat sanctuary, here's a quick primer: Basecamp Fitness was developed by Zappos.com founder Nick Swinmurn and has locations in Burlingame, Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Santa Monica. The workout is a circuit of 30 one-minute exercises that offer a calorie-burning, body-toning, and muscle-building experience. Pricing ranges from $29.99 for one class to $279 for 10 classes. Membership packages are also available.

As for those park workouts, Basecamp tells us that the sessions will feature "Air Assault Bikes" as well as tons of other fitness equipment. Water and snacks will be provided and all attendees will receive a free workout T-shirt. Guests are urged to arrive early for optimal parking. Email david@basecampfitness.co to secure a spot!
