Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

SANTA MONICA—Last year we told you about one of our fave new handbag lines, She + Lo. This Wednesday we have reason to bow down and thank the retail gods because this luxe line of Italian leather bags is having an epic sample sale! Goodies from past collections all the way through Spring 2015 will be discounted up to 50%. From 10am-3pm at the brand's showroom (1505 4th Street, Suite #300) shop the hobos, cross-bodies, and satchels you've seen carried by the likes of Emmy Rossum and Kate Bosworth—for oh so much less. Credit cards and cash are both welcome, and all sales will be final.

DTLA—If a cocktail party featuring a curated list of libations from some of the city's best in the business sounds your ideal Tuesday night (who says you can only let loose on the weekend?!), the Ace Hotel (929 S Broadway Avenue) has got you covered. The weekly event, Friends With Benefits, brings mega-talented guest mixologists to the hotel's Upstairs bar between 5-8pm to dazzle guests with their custom concoctions. This week's installment promises a little Latin flair from Dominic Venegas and likely some tequila-spiked creations from Bon Vivants' Alex Staus, who can't get enough of the stuff.

PLAYA VISTA—As evidenced by our recent gushing of natural beauty booty from the super store, we really love Whole Foods. Beginning this Wednesday, citizens of west side neighborhood Playa Vista are getting a branch of the market to call their very own. This new addition to the Whole Foods family, located at 1746 W Jefferson Boulevard, is breaking ground with all day activities (beginning at 9am) including a "green carpet" where patrons can get photos snapped, and a cool giveaway to the first 200 guests.
