Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Maybe waiting in a mile-long brunch line isn't exactly your cup of tea, or maybe you and mom can't coordinate your schedules on Sunday. If you're in need of an alternate plan for you and the lady you're celebrating this weekend, consider our options for sipping, shopping, and generally having the Perfect Saturday in Downtown's Historic Core. Today, we're revisiting the cool capsule near 9th and Broadway, which has scored a slew of stylish new additions since our last visit.

Tangled Fashion

Start the morning out the proper way with some of the city's best coffee and juice under one roof at the new Verve Coffee Roasters (833 S. Spring St.). Sip a perfectly poured cappuccino and share one of Juice Served Here's flights and perch on the lush patio, flanked by vertical gardens. As far as eats, the cafe/juice bar offers baked goods courtesy of Short Cake and vegan snacks from Cafe Gratitude.

All You Need Is Blush

Head over another recent Historic Core addition, Aesop (862 S. Broadway St.) where the two of you can let expert employees give you a tutorial on the beloved brand's skin-saving products, which perfectly blend wholesome ingredients and the latest in skincare technology. Pamper mom by scooping up a best-selling hand balm packed with essential oils that will leave her soft and sweet-smelling throughout the day.

Ryzenberg On

Update mom with on-trend fashion (sometimes they need a little help!) by way of Althouse (761 S. Main St.), a vintage-inspired womenswear boutique stocked with an impressive list of designers ranging from affordable to high-end. Check out cool separates from Apiece Apart and Objects Without Meaning and pick up a pair of Rachel Comey sandals and get her all suited up for upcoming summer weather.

Tweela Speaks

To end your afternoon of browsing the nabe's newest additions, make your way to Preux & Proper's elegant bar (840 S. Spring St.) for cocktails. The New Orleans-influenced eatery boasts a drink menu brimming with Southern flair. May we suggest the Southern Peach, made with peach moonshine and Bundaberg peach soda? There are so many tasty concoctions to try, you'll want to have your Uber app on standby.
