In an effort to educate and inspire indie designers and fashion entrepreneurs, LA-based fashion development and production house TEG International will debut its first-ever "Launch Your Line" workshop series at its DTLA studio. The monthly crash course kicks off on Saturday, May 23rd from 10am to 12pm with the "Launch Your Handcrafted Shoe & Bag Line" workshop.

Bag-making hopefuls at the debut class will have a chance to meet TEG International founder Jennifer Evans, who will discuss her partner factory in Senegal, Africa and explain how original designs are developed and produced in small volumes by hand in order to preserve local craftsmanship. Guest maker Benjamin Schwartz of BENJAMINS, a California custom shoemaker, will share his journey into making handcrafted shoe. Afterwards, guests will be invited to shop Schwartz's collection at a special pop-up shop that will be opened to the public from 12pm to 5pm and again that Sunday during the same hours.

See the "Launch Your Line" workshop series schedule below, and register for each two-hour course here. Classes are $15 and pre-registration is required. As for the pop-up shops after each class, they're open to the public.
