Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

ECHO PARK—Eastside's cool-girl haven Myrtle (2213 Sunset Blvd) has always showcased an impressive roster of independent labels (see: Charlotte Stone shoes, handmade leather & ceramic bags and jewelry from jujumade, and funky printed pieces by Dusen Dusen), but this Thursday from 5-8pm owner Whitney Bickers gives us even more reason to shop at the sweet store with a trunk show from Family Affairs. The mother-and-daughter designed clothing label's new Spring/Summer 2015 collection "Ti Amo" will be highlighted for customers to shop with a special 10% discount and designer Nina Egli will be on hand to greet guests.  And as per usual the boutique will be treating patrons to libations so you and your cohorts can make a social event out of your shopping trip.

HOLLYWOOD—We all love to share our #foodporn via social media (guilty!), but The Standard Hollywood (8300 Sunset Blvd) puts some food-and-drink lovers' favorite topic on blast IRL with Thursday night's "Eat Your Words," a live storytelling experience in the hotel's StandardTalks series. From 8-10pm, a group of experienced masticaters including Table 20 and EaterLA's "Best Bartender in LA" Matthew Biancaniello and Kyle Duncan Graham of Rock 'N' Roll Cheeseburger podcast will tell food-related tales and comedian/author Greg Walloch reprises his role as host. RVSP to HollywoodRSVP@StandardHotels.com to claim your spot for this deliciously fun night.

CENTURY CITY—Who among us isn't concerned with having healthy, radiant skin? Bring yourself and your epidermis to Bloomingdales Century City's (10250 Santa Monica Blvd) cosmetics department this Thursday for a StriVectin Event in which guests will benefit from a trans-dermal analysis where a professional will target specific issues and help customize a perfect skincare regiment featuring the scientifically proven-effective line. Book an appointment by calling 310-772-7188 and earn a bonus gift with purchase of any StriVectin product.
