FAIRFAX DISTRICT—Pygmy Hippo Shoppe (306 N. Stanley Ave) is one of our go-to spots for wonderfully wacky gifts (think Broad City and Mean Girls nesting dolls from BoBo Babushka for example). This Saturday from 1-4pm, the teeny-tiny boutique amps up the fun factor with a trunk show from Brooklyn-based brand Buried Diamond. In addition to a visit from the company's designer Martha Moore Porter showcasing the latest of her whimsical jewelry, charms, and other quirky goodies, Pygmy promises to keep your sweet tooth satiated with treats from the Smile Frozen Goods ice cream truck, and free donuts courtesy of neighbor Cofax Coffee.

GLENDALE—Limber up before hitting all those Memorial Day sales this Sunday at the Americana at Brand's (889 Americana Way) weekly Yoga on the Green. Sponsored by Lululemon Atheltica, the free class meets on the shopping center's central lawn from 9:30-10:30am and is open to all experience levels.

DTLA—What's Memorial Day without a chill and fashionable pool party? Hotel Figueroa's (939 S Figueroa St) bi-monthly music event, Wavey, easily fits this bill. Monday from 12-8pm, bring your bikini-clad bod for some dipping, sipping, and socializing to DJ sets by Justin Jay, Roy Davis Jr, Thee Mike B, Overjoy, and Cosmodrome. Presented by lifestyle event company and retailer The Well in collaboration with Dim Mak Records, these events are expected to be packed with the cool set, so purchase your $10 tickets while they're still available here.
