Last month, actress-turned-holistic beauty guru Shiva Rose revealed her plans to attend this year's Spirit Weavers Gathering, a five-day, all-female spiritual camping retreat in Mendocino, California that salutes "cultures past which represented basic human skills to ensure the survival of the body and the soul," the exclusive event's website explains. "Fermenting foods, weaving and dying fabrics, creating ceremony, sharing tea, and making plant medicines- singing songs, together as a community- these were the common knowledge ways and part of the simple pleasures of a life lived in balance and in harmony with nature."
Essentially an amped up version of Malibu's Mercado Sagrado and a much cleaner version of Burning Man, the modern-day hippie gathering looks like something straight out of the '70s, offering 500 talented women and their children who share a similar style aesthetic to the Source Family a safe place to create, meet like-minded individuals, and be one with nature. Taking place May 14th through May 18th, each day was filled with cool, unapologetically New Age-y activities, including tea and meditation, drum and fire dancing, song circles, and something called an "angel wash."
Of course, because this is 2015, attendees did not leave technology behind and had no problem filling up the event's #spiritweaversgathering feed. See a few of our favorite sights below; we can smell the sage burning through our computer screens.
