DTLA—Because it's wedding season, and because you probably have at least one bridesmaid dress you're dreading to wear on the horizon, Fig at 7th (735 S Figueroa St) offers salvation this Wednesday with a screening of contemporary-classic comedy Bridesmaids in the Taste Food Hall. Beginning at 6pm, the downtown shopping center treats patrons to a happy hour and DJ set. Get $1 off wines at Mendocino Farms, 2 buns for $7 at Flying Pig, and buy-one-get-one-free cupcakes at Sprinkles and you'll have everything you need to nestle in and get the belly laughs started at the sunset screening.

PASADENAI Love Creatives is an online space for so-called "slashies" (ie: blogger/mixologist or designer/foodie) that is quickly becoming a go-to source for job and service ad posting and event listings for the LA creative set. Among their regular networking and socializing opportunities is this Wednesday's Movie Night, a variation on their Making Handshakes Happen mixers. The free event takes place at womenswear boutique Finn + Willow (34 Hugus Alley) in One Colorado from 7-9pm and attendees can indulge in a gourmet popcorn bar and sip seasonal cocktail creations from Smoke & Honey's Rachel Mae Furman while they take in a viewing of Sandra Bullock's The Net and — more importantly — hobnob with like-minded individuals. RSVP here by May 19th to hold yourself a spot!
