Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Between the epic party circuit and the idea of swimming through a sea of sweaty people at the actual music fest, we're pretty wiped just thinking about Coachella. For budget-strapped audiophiles who plan on sitting it out—or festival warriors in need of a local round two—consider hitting up the fifth annual Brokechella in the Arts District next week.

Going down Saturday, April 18th from 3pm to midnight, the boozy DTLA bash promises four stages and a packed roster of musical acts and comedians. As far as retail therapy, shop edgy-cool apparel from Rojas, boho clothing and accessories from the Popsikle truck, LA-minded sunnies by City Farer, fest-ready kimonos by Phraseology, '90s-inspired merch from Scrap City LA, and more wares from a host of local vendors.

Into it? Peep the full lineup of performers here and nab advance tickets to the 21+ event for $22 here; otherwise, they're $25 at the door.
