Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Before you plan a trip to boho-happy Abbot Kinney for your last-minute festival fashion needs, note that you'll have one less source for gypset finishing touches. Globally-inspired lifestyle label Figue revealed in February that it was eyeing other spaces, but we can confirm that the shop is now officially closed.

Founded by NY-based designer Stephanie von Watzdorf, the brand first popped up last May and decided to extend its Venice vacay. Although Figue hoped to relocate on the laid-back stretch, we're told "there is no immediate plan for a [new] West Coast store." Bummer!

Otherwise, perennially Coachella-ready Principessa, Aussie-filled Aust, and boho-luxe Burning Torch are just a few Abbot Kinney boutiques worth hitting up before you head to the desert. Oh, but good luck with parking.

Update 4/9: This article has been updated with additional quotes from Figue.
