Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Don't be too bummed if you're not among the thousands of desert-bound Angelenos this weekend: on top of temporarily clearer freeways and parking lots, expect plenty of convenient retail therapy, too. This Saturday, April 11th, Eastside Handmade presents another stellar roster of local designers when it takes over Highland Park furniture haven Shopclass.

Happening from 11am to 5pm, expect over 50 vendors offering handmade clothing, accoutrements, home goods, art, and more. (Early Mother's Day gifts, anyone?) Shop geometric gems from Twenty Two Hours, edgy-cool jewelry from Monica Squitieri, LA-inspired accessories from L. Makai, hand-dyed textiles from Juniper & Fir, colorful pottery from Pauline Wolstencroft, modern furniture and lighting from Spade Studio, stationery from Cactus Club Paper, and many other local talents; peep the full lineup here.
