If the idea of discussing essential oils with Shiva Rose or tasting tonics with Moon Juice's Amanda Chantal Bacon and Gwyneth Paltrow is your personal paradise, clear your calendar this weekend. On Saturday, May 2nd (11am-6pm) and Sunday, May 3rd (11am-7pm) bi-annual fair Mercado Sagrado is taking over a private oak grove in Malibu Canyon to host a magical mecca filled with handmade and artisan goods, healthy food, healing arts, lectures, and live music.
This season's event will feature all kinds of ethereal excitement, including a travel booth hosted by LA-raised Maryam Nassir Zadeh, indigo-dyed textiles by Lookout & Wonderland, geometric wooden wonders by Aleph Geddis, apothecary and reiki by Scents of Awe, wildcrafted scents distilled by Juniper Ridge on-site. Additional unique perks include aura photography by Radiant Human, animal medicine readings by House of the Standing Moon, Vedic readings by Eve of Astrology, and flower essence readings by Sister Spinster Apothecary.
As if this outdoor event wasn't delightfully crunchy enough, guests can enjoy vintage esoteric books by The Bodhi Tree, superfood smoothies by the aforementioned Moon Juice, fermented miso, raw desserts, and moving lectures.
Buy $20 tickets online here, or pay $25 cash at the door. (Kids 12 and under are free; no dog allowed.) Once you park at 901 Encinal Canyon Road, a shuttle service will take you to the oak grove where the event located, which is two miles away.
