Market Bags, Sleek Shirting, More: Inside Apolis's DTLA Sample Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Given that CFDA-faved LA label Apolis's mission is to "empower communities worldwide," we can't help but feel guilty for taking advantage of the major deals at their Arts District sample sale, which kicked off today at noon. (All the more reason to buy more and save more, no?) Located at 836 Traction Ave., the epic blowout is stacked with the globally-conscious brand's cool menswear and accessories from past collections—including their signature Market Bags for just $30.

Clothing is conveniently organized by size on tables in the center of the space, while home goods and accessories are against the wall. As far as pricing, expect basic tees for $15 or three for $45, short-sleeved button-down shirts for $40, long-sleeved button-downs for $50, outerwear for $80 to $150, boots for $80 to $100, shorts for $35, chinos for $45, and denim for $75.

We're told that merch will be replenished; see the goods and more pricing in the gallery above and hit up the sale today through Sunday from 12 to 7pm. (Don't forget that Arts District spring cleaning sale that's happening, too.)

Bonus: sale shoppers score 20% off their purchase at Apolis's Common Gallery when they flash their receipt.
