No wonder the Sportsmen's Lodge pulled the plug on that weekly flea and farmers market—not that the indie bazaar would've stolen the show from the massive mixed-use mall that's in the works for the retail therapy-happy property. As our sister site Curbed reveals, the renovated Studio City hotel's event center will be redeveloped into Sportsmen's Landing, proving that LA's future megadevelopments plan on enjoying the sunshine.
Per Curbed, the upscale shopping/dining/fitness center will boast "24,251 square feet of restaurant space, 37,518 square feet of retail space, [and] 30,000 square feet of health club space." (Oh, and a measly 445 parking spaces.) A listing for the project notes that the developers behind the Malibu Lumber Yard will deck out the space, which will be "surrounded by spectacular water features [and] children play areas."
Luxe sweat sanctuary Equinox has already signed on; no word yet on the retail roster or opening date.
