Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Throwback style fans of the Zack Morris persuasion, this one's for you. In addition to all of that action on Abbot Kinney and Main Street, Venice is also scoring another surf shack by way of legendary brand Maui & Sons.

Apparel News reports that the 35-year-old label is opening a flagship near the tourist-happy pier at Washington Boulevard, about a mile away from its first shop on Ocean Front Walk. The 1,200-square-foot space will focus on clothing and accessories for women, men, and children (including those retro logo tanks), notes the fashion trade pub, while the Maui & Sons's original store will continue stocking skateboards, surfboards, and more active merch. The new boutique is slated to open later this month.
