After two years of anticipation, Silver Lake's first Whole Foods is set to arrive in just a few months. Currently occupying the upscale grocery store's space at 2520 Glendale Boulevard is Ralphs, who is officially getting the boot this Sunday, March 15th. To mark its impending doom, the supermarket is hosting a closeout sale that's offering up to 25% off goods.
Judging by The Eastsider's photos, it's pretty slim pickings at the 51,000-square-foot store now, leaving Silver Lake residents all but a few measly aisles of retro cereal boxes and salad dressing. The neighborhood blog notes that Whole Foods will move in after it remodels and expands; no word on a projected opening date.
