Live-Blogging the Oscars 2015 Red Carpet With Louise Roe

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Surprise! We're reporting live from the 87th Academy Awards 2015. Our celebrity correspondent is none other than Louise Roe, an England-born, LA-based lifestyle expert who is currently a host on Access Hollywood, was the host of NBC’s Fashion Star and MTV’s Plain Jane, and is Glamour's former Fashion Editor-at-Large. As if her résumé wasn't impressive enough, she's also set to release her very first book, Front Roe: How to be a Leading Lady in Your Own Life, in April.

For the next two hours, the British beauty will be exclusively sharing with us her Oscars red carpet observations—star sightings, insider secrets, behind-the-scenes snaps—directly from the front lines. Take it away, Roe!

2:30pm: Hello, Racked readers! Excited to give you the scoop. Today I'm wearing a Monique Lhuillier dress, Alexandre Birman shoes, a House of Harlow clutch, and jewelry by Bluefly. In love with this dress. The best part? It's super comfy.

2:41pm: Room with a view. I'm up on the Dolby Theatre's Princess Bridge reporting on fashion for Access Hollywood. Lights, camera, rain!

2:48pm: Some Vogue-ing going on up here in my Madonna microphone. It's a serious business deciding who's best dressed.

2:58pm: Speaking of best-dressed, I'm thinking Emma Stone will win it for being edgy but sleek, and Julianne Moore for always taking a risk. Feathers, sequins or both, she'll rock it. And Lady Gaga will be most low-cut, for sure!

3:04pm: America Ferrera looks pretty, but the dress is a little aging. I'd prefer to see her in something sexier. Jamie Chung is elegant and ethereal in her sparkly gown. I'm dying over her Art Deco earrings.

3:21pm: Atmosphere is heating up. Crowds in the bleachers scream their lungs out so reporters always know when a big star has arrived. All the hosts from different networks know each other so it's a cool chance to catch up and compare dresses!

3:29pm: Are these the real Fashion Police?

3:33pm: My first fashion fail is Margot Robbie. Killer red lips, sexy pendant on her cleavage, sleek lob... but a loose, black dress. She is such a bombshell, so I really had higher hopes.

3:47pm: If you want to know what reporters eat on the red carpet, let's just say that protein bars are my best friend! I'll have one or three while I'm here. To start my day, I had a huge breakfast: eggs, toast, avocado, tea... I need the fuel!

3:50pm: After the carpet, I'm going to switch dresses and meet my friends at the after-party. But I can't have too many tequilas because I'm off to film the Today show at 3:30am tomorrow.

4:01pm: All the reporters can't wait for Julianne Moore to arrive. She's the queen!

4:05pm: Well, here comes the rain. Luckily the carpet is tented, but it's too late to change out choices anyway. These things get planned so far in advance.

4:20pm: Dying over Julianne Moore in Chanel Couture. It features 80,000 sequins and took 987 hours to make!

4:22pm: Biggest trends on the carpet so far are blush, white, and giant necklaces. Behati Prinsloo, Laura Dern, Margot Robbie, and Cate Blanchett are perfect examples.

4:36pm: The behind-the-scenes crew. It takes a village!

4:38pm: Now, let's talk after-parties. Vanity Fair is the hottest, hardest ticket to get. The InStyle viewing party and Elton John dinner are awesome, too.

5:02pm: Gwynnie is best-dressed, hands down! Just beyond and even more spectacular than her infamous white Tom Ford cape.

5:13pm: A quick kiss with Bradley before signing off. Thanks for having me!
