Although we're excited about Rick Caruso's official plans to Grove-ify Palisades Village at Swarthmore Avenue, we have no doubt that Elyse Walker will maintain her reign as the retail queen of Antioch Street. Her 6,500-square-foot designer playground covers the entire block and is frequented by stars like Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Garner, and Kate Hudson, which is why Walker will have no trouble meeting sales goals should she decide to build more.
In a recent Apparel News profile, Walker reveals that although she's in the process of enhancing her digital presence (FWRD.com will soon include an iPad app and an improved iPhone app), "physical boutiques continue to be important to her" and she's "considering adding space to her Pacific Palisades store."
The retailer-designer is also keeping her eyes peeled for potential new locations. She didn't think Abbot Kinney was "developed enough" to accommodate her high-end vibe a few years ago, but we're wondering if she's had a change of heart considering the once-indie shopping stretch's rapid gentrification. (An Elyse Walker Venice boutique would fit right in with equally-stylish neighbors like Caudalie and Rag & Bone—just saying.)
