Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Starting tomorrow through February 22nd, one of our favorite Coachella party venues—Ace Hotel & Swim Club—is hosting a retro-tastic pop-up in honor of the mid-century design celebration known as Modernism Week. Palm Desert-based vintage boutique The Fine Art of Design will transform the hotel into a throwback fashion mecca, offering a unique range of pre-loved pieces plucked directly from the closets of Palm Springs's boldest dressers.

If you have any doubt that trekking to Palm Springs for this is worth it, here are a few things to know about The Fine Art of Design: 1) the shop receives about 75% of the inventory from stylish local women who sell, trade or consign their precious fashion archives, 2) it has garnered recognition from cool glossies like Elle, 3) it's pretty much a landmark for fashion insiders across the globe. Go!
