Get Real Stops By The Well in DTLA; Merican Made Pop-Up in Venice

We round up the week's coolest events so you don't have to.

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

FASHION DISTRICT—Streetwise salon and shop The Well (1006 S Olive Street) is giving urban style loving Angeleans a reason to brave the Boxing Day traffic. Saturday the space welcomes a pop-up and party in partnership with Dirtybird Records. The force behind house music outfit GET REAL (Green Velvet and Claude VonStroke) will stop in for a meet-and-greet with a bundle of their branded gear. In addition to (duh) cool tunes and merch, the store is getting complimentary drinks in the hands of guests to the 8-10pm event.

VENICE—Giving gifts created by LA makers is a trend we can totally get behind (and are fully putting into practice). If you're still in search of goods by local artisans and designers, there's still time to take advantage of Milkmade's (1314 Abbot Kinney Boulevard) Merican Made pop-up, which features Angelean talents including Androgyny Design and Dean as well as a gang of other US-based brands. Last minute gifters who pop by on Thursday can take advantage of complimentary bubbles between 4-7pm, otherwise you can shop the aforementioned wares over the weekend. But don't wait too long—it comes to a close on Sunday.
