Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If you were planning on giving your eyebrows and lashes a dramatic boost at Blushington anytime soon, you'll have to take your business elsewhere. Earlier this week, the popular LA-based beautification station announced that it has officially discontinued its tinting services.
"Your safety is our top priority and the FDA has raised concerns about the dyes used during tinting services," founder and CEO Stephi Maron explains in the brand's newsletter. "There are also state laws that limit tiniting. I hope you can appreciate our desire to put safety first."
Kudos to Blushington for being cautious, but given that Angelenos are all about bold brows right now, it will be quite some time before other studios catch on. Tell us: are you still on Team Tint?
