Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
If our 2015 Holiday Gift Guides have been serving you well but you're also looking for a DIY experience, head to Artists & Fleas's free holiday show this weekend. Taking place in DTLA's Arts District on Saturday (December 19th) and Sunday (December 20th) 11am to 5pm, will host more than 80 holiday-ready vendors, as well as a series of creative, hands-on workshops.
At 11am, attendees can take in a coffee scrub workshop ($10-$20), which will offer a selection of essential oils that can be mixed with organic virgin coconut oil and fragrant coffee grounds. 1pm will feature a build-your-own "mocha mask" and roll on cologne for men and women ($10). 3pm will present our favorite, DIY gingerbread "campers," which will be a modern, hipster take on your traditional gingerbread house. That session costs $40 and will be lead by design star Nadia Gellar.
