Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
FAIRFAX—Besides the killer options we'll be unveiling in tomorrow's edition of our 2015 Holiday Gift Guide (stay tuned for that), we think one manly gift to give your guy this season is the latest guide to grooming, penned by skincare giant Kiehls' president, Chris Salgardo. Manmade: The Essential Skincare & Grooming Reference for Every Man is sure to be the dude in your life's new bible—even if he pretends to be low maintenance. For the book's launch, Salgardo will appear at The Grove (189 The Grove Drive) this Tuesday to meet the public and sign his newly published text. The 6-8pm event—which is set to take place near the shopping center's Christmas tree—is the perfect time to snag this resource, which offers non-brand-specific tips, hacks, and interviews with cool guys your giftee will wanna emulate. If you can't make Tuesday's meet-and-greet, catch another on Wednesday at the brand's Bev Hills location (100 N Robertson Boulevard) from 6-8pm.
WEST HOLLYWOOD—Tomorrow through Sunday, shoppers looking to score chic, gift-ready goods should head to WeHo's posh Nine Zero One Salon (8469 Melrose Place). The fashionable locale will have jewels from Baublebar, cheeky accessories from ban.do, sweets from Sugarfina (YES to the champagne flavored gummy bears), and made-in-LA dresses by Shifts available to purchase for yourself or the names still on your list. The pop up continues daily from 10am-8pm and also treats guests to bubbles (to match your bears), treats, and a complimentary braid bar. We suggest heading in sooner rather than later, since Shifts will be offering a Baublebar necklace with a dress purchase—but only while supplies last.
