Free Alfred Coffee in Beverly Grove; Jackalope Art Fair in Pasadena, More!

We round up the week's coolest events so you don't have to.

Alfred Coffee

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

BEVERLY GROVE—Because Alfred Coffee (8428 Melrose Place) is located in one of the city's most fashionable hoods, it only makes sense that their baristas be decked out in some stylish gear. Currently, that is being provided by Theory's nearby boutique (8428 Melrose Avenue). But that's not the only collab the popular coffee spot and the contemporary clothing brand have brewing; every Saturday in November, score a free cup of joe from 9-11am then flash your cup when you shop at Theory and receive a 20% discount! The complimentary coffee is limited to one cup per customer, and is only available at Alfred's Melrose Place location.

PASADENA—With more than 200 local vendors, Jackalope Art Fair promises to be one-stop-shopping for all the artisanal goods you've been on the hunt for. Whether you're getting a jump on seasonal gift-giving, looking to spruce up your space, or accessorize an outfit that needed that little something, you're definitely bound to score at this weekend-long outdoor fair in Pasadena's Central Park (275 S Raymond Avenue). Some of the stuff we're dying to get our hands on here are pop culture-centric cards by  Christina Haberkern Studio (this Kim K "Ugly Cry" card is too good), minimally designed handmade leather bags—at a totally manageable price point!—by Clau, and cool, colorful tumblers and vessels by Half Ceramics. But we're also sure we'll find a few things we never knew we couldn't live without. Hours for both Saturday and Sunday are 10am to 5pm.

GLENDALESeedling, the company that makes interactive, creative toys and activity kits for kids, is popping up at The Americana at Brand (889 Americana Way). The shop—which will be hanging around through the holiday season—holds a grand opening this Saturday and when you whisper "magic" to the salesperson while making a purchase, you can snag a sweet little drawstring bag. We've got a feeling we'll be able to tick a few things off the ol' Christmas list by heading here. Saturday's shopping hours are 10am-10pm.

VENICE—Even though Breast Cancer Awareness month has past, we're always focused on ways to benefit this significant cause. Enter this Sunday's pop-up sample sale that's donating proceeds to B4BC, an organization devoted to educating women on early detection and prevention via a healthy lifestyle. Artist space 800Main (800 Main Street) will be transformed into a marketplace loaded with merchandise including jewelry by Jemma Sands, California casual clothing by Sol Angeles, and yoga mats/bags/towels from Vagabond Goods. The 12-5pm event also features live DJ tunes, mimosas, food by Flowerboy Project, and complimentary rooftop yoga sessions at 12:15pm and 1:30pm.

ARTS DISTRICT—LA-based design studio wrk-shp, which creates modern clothing, accessories, furniture, and home goods (not to mention the architectural work!), is taking over at cool concept store Voyager (300 S Santa Fe Avenue) for the month of November with a pop-up that kicks off this Saturday. Stop by the celebratory bash from 6-9pm to enjoy drinks and scope out the beautifully-designed pieces. And keep an eye out next week when we show you an inside look at the Le Corbusier-inspired collection inside the shop. Ps: architecture geeks will die for the "Corbu" sweatshirt!
