Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Remember just a few weeks ago when you were craving Fall feels so hard, you'd practically took your Pumpkin Spice Latte intravenously whilst creating a Pinterest page devoted to cozy knits? Well we've enjoyed the dipped Autumn temps for approximately 2.5 days and already everyone's daydreaming of hanging poolside in a bikini again.
Spoiled? Probably. But we SoCal gals can't help but need about 345 days a year of sunshine-y warmth and exposing a bit of skin (we'll save about 20 for sweater weather). For that reason, we're heading to the beach—Hermosa Beach to be specific—to spend a Saturday body-sculpting, brunching, beautifying, and itty-bitty bikini shopping.
Okay, yes, you'll have to be conscious at 7:30am for Bionic Body's (1244 Hermosa Avenue) Bionic Balance workout, but bear with us—you'll get to reward yourself right after this 75-minute yogic class. Stretch deeply, clear our your mental cobwebs, and challenge your body with some balancing inversions to start your day in a Zen-like bliss.
Did someone say "bottomless mimosas?" Well, yeah. Urban bistro Abigaile (1301 Manhattan Avenue) did on its indulgent brunch menu. For $18 you can sip fresh oj and bubbly concoctions until your heart's content—or at least until you've got a bit of a buzz. As far as the food, you can go hard with the L.B.C., which tops crispy waffles with fried chicken, bacon maple butter, pistachio, and apricot jam. If you're trying to be a little less naughty, go for a seasonal veggie frittata or a Vietnamese poached chicken salad.
Since you'll still be able to have your tootsies out-and-about for a bit longer, head to Well Manicured (1601 Pacific Coast Highway, #280) to get them pampered properly. We're recommending the nail salon's Mindful Pedicure ($60), which starts off with you choosing a signature scent and relaxing with a breathing exercise, then gets your extremities soaking in dead sea salt followed by an ultra-relaxing foot rub and your choice of buff or polish. You can book an appointment in advance here.

The cheeky bikinis at Montce Swim (112 Pier Avenue) are certainly not for the shy, but daaaaaaamn are they sexy. And we think you deserve to feel like a super beach babe in the ultra-girly styles. At the brand's breezy brick-and-mortar, try mixing and matching to create a custom look and fit (this option is great for those of us whose upper and lower parts don't always match on a standard sizing chart!).
