CANOGA PARK—Nathan Turner's American Style outpost the Village at Westfield Topanga (6600 Topanga Canyon Boulevard) has already become a design hub in the short time the new outdoor shopping center has been in existence. Friday brings guests yet another opportunity to dress up your home—DIY style. From 3-7pm the pop-up hosts free macrame and ceramics demonstrations. Weaving techniques will be taught by Reform Fibers' Elise Goodwin and William Reardon of New York Stoneware will offer tips for working with ceramics. Attendees will also be treated to refreshing beverages from a complimentary lemonade stand.
WEST HOLLYWOOD—The West Hollywood Design District welcomes a slick new home decor retailer when Restoration Hardware opens its first stand-alone RH Modern Gallery (8772 Beverly Boulevard) this Friday. The modern lifestyle store, which will stock beautifully minimal, top-notch tableware, drapery, lighting fixtures, accents, and much more, opens with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11am. Afterwards, the public can explore the space and the well-designed treasures inside—most of which were created via collaborations with internationally renowned artists.
