Exclusive: Westfield Century City Rolls Out Holiday-Ready Vending Machines Today

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

From parking cyclists's wheels to tapping Kelly Wearstler for its fashionable $800MM facelift to pleasing digital shutterbugs with Insta-worthy art, Westfield Century City certainly knows how to build the hype. For the holidays, the shopping center is rolling out the Gift Box, a unique collection of pop-up vending machines stocked with merch from LA faves.

Now through New Years, pick up giftables from charming Arts District boutique Poketo, fashionable cafe Alfred Coffee, and local photographer Gray Malin. The goods include design-driven stationery, prints, and accessories from Poketo ($6 to $60); printastic iPhone cases and cocktail kits from Malin ($24 to $49); and mugs, chocolate, and more from Alfred ($10 to $24).

Shoppers will be gifted goodies, too: the pop-ups will include special golden tickets redeemable for prizes (like Malin's iconic prints, a year's worth of free java, and a brunch and studio tour of Poketo), and mallgoers can also score 10% off their purchase when they share a festive photo using the Instagram-enabled machines.

Clearly feeling the mood of the gift-giving season, Westfield CC is also treating 100 very lucky Racked readers to free merch from the holiday pop-ups. Simply shop from the vending machine, visit guest services, and mention "Racked LA"—you'll score a gift card in the amount of your purchase. (Nice!)

Take a peek at a few of the vending machine goodies to expect above.
