VENICE—A gang of of uniquely innovative labels has formed for a fall shopping soiree this Saturday. Parachute, maker of luxe bedding basics, hosts the exciting endeavor at its Venice showroom (54 Paloma Avenue) which will also offer affordable fine jewelry from Vrai & Oro, LA-made denim from Industry Standard, and super cool hand-printed textiles from Block Shop. Normally, all of the aforementioned goods are available exclusively online, which is why this retail affair is such a stellar one. The 11am-5pm event also treats guests to light bites and cocktails, making this a Saturday well spent.
BEVERLY HILLS—Full disclosure: sometimes we need a little extra gymspiration, or shall we say, gymcentive. Bev Hills' new-gym-on-the-block Speedplay (8500 Wilshire Boulevard), which is located on the penthouse of an 11-story structure, offers a stunning, scenic setting to get your sweat on—which totally makes the butt-kicking worthwhile. The unique fitness studio's official launch is this Thursday from 5-9pm and features cocktails spiked by Juice Served Here, mini massages from Urban Med, activewear braided hairdos courtesy of Brighton Salon, and energetic boosts via IV vitamin therapy from Drip Doctors.
EAST HOLLYWOOD—Get ready to cross some things off that holiday gift list this Sunday as Barnsdall Art Park (4800 Hollywood Boulevard) hosts its annual Holiday Sale and Fundraiser. Shop original art from the students and faculty of the art center including ceramics, jewelry, and photography (but there's more!) and benefit its art education program when you purchase food and drink tickets (entrance is free if you choose not to eat or drink). Pre-sale tickets start at just $5 for a snack and drink, but if you wait to buy at the door it will cost you $7. You can also enter a raffle for $5 to earn a chance to win prizes including Magic Mountain and Disneyland tickets, and gift cards from eateries like P.F. Chang's and Fogo de Chao. Grab your tickets in advance now by heading here.
