HIGHLAND PARK—LA-made line Echo + Air creates clothing a with modern, minimalist edge. We've previously lusted after the brand's bralettes and racerback bodysuits, but with cooler weather (eventually) headed our way, designer Jordana Howard has recently added some equally desirable sweaters and outwear pieces in E+A's moody Fall 2015 collection (think oversize knit kimonos and sweaters that can be worn multiple ways—all in a black and grey palette). In conjunction with this Saturday's Highland Park Art Walk, Howard will be bringing some of the new garments by artsy boutique Social Study (5028 1/2 York Boulevard) for a trunk show. Stop by to shop the collection and grab a sip of wine during the 7-10pm event.
SILVER LAKE—All of the beautiful baubles in local jewelry line Heather Renae Designs have been created by hand using the classic lost wax method. Pieces like geometric brass cuffs bejeweled with moonstone or rings with iridescent Aqua Aura stone were inspired by the designer's daydreams and interest in mysticism. One of the shop's favorites, the label returns to Los Angeles County Store (by popular demand) this Saturday for a 12-2pm trunk show. Swing by to check out her new and best-selling pieces alike, and be sure to peruse the shop for other locally-crafted goodies.
ARTS DISTRICT—Both Atwater Village and Highland Park are already reaping the tasty benefits of The Juice's healthful, cold-pressed juice concoctions (when the coconut almond milk is available, just say YES), and soon DTLA's Arts District will be scoring sips from the purveyor as well. This Saturday marks the opening of a pop-up for the local mini-chain, which can be found at 527 Colyton Street. The 2-5pm grand opening celebration will include a Kid's Green Juice Drinking Challange (hey, as long as they're getting their veggies in!), tastings, discounts, and giveaways. Plus, there will be a food truck and live DJ on hand to make the party legit.
TORRANCE—The new and improved Del Amo Fashion Center (3525 W. Carson Ave.) debuts its upgraded directory this Friday, which includes Nordstrom. The department store is hosting a Beauty Bash from 8 to 10am on level one to toast its relocated space, and attendees will enjoy beauty demonstrations, gifts with purchase, and other opening day perks. Plus, the first 1,000 shoppers will score a reusable tote bag while supplies last.
