Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Given that all of the Halloween merch is on the way to the clearance bins, it's time to start thinking about the gift-giving season. Channeling the patron saint of holiday craft markets is the Jackalope Art Fair, which invades Old Town Pasadena for two days of indie retail therapy next weekend.
On Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th (10am to 5pm daily), expect to shop over 200 local designers, artists, and other creative talents at Pasadena's Central Park. The goods will include handmade and vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories, home decor, art, beauty, artisanal foods, bath and body, stationery and much more; plus, there'll be a full sched of DIY activities and workshops both days. As far as mid-shopping fuel, food trucks like Kogi, the Grilled Cheese Truck, Son of a Bun, and more LA faves will be parked at the bazaar.
