SILVER LAKE—National Cat Day is this Thursday and LA artist-supporting boutique Los Angeles County Store (4333 Sunset Boulevard) is celebrating the best way possible—by hosting an event to help find homes for local strays. The sweet Sunset Junction gift shop is partnering with Silver Lake-based rescue organization Luxe Paws, who traps, spays/neuters, raises funds for medical care, and finds foster and fur-ever homes for kitties in need (cat lovers beware: their Instagram account is both crazy cute and heartbreaking at times). During the 5-7pm Happy Hour, sip Meowtinis, score cat-centric swag from charitable apparel line Arm the Animals, and mingle with a slew of fuzzy babies up for adoption.
VENICE—Tom's Roasting Co. (1344 Abbot Kinney Boulevard) is holding a fun-for-the-whole-family Fall Festival this Thursday. Beginning at 5:30pm, stop in dressed up in your desired Halloween attire and enter the costume contest, paint pumpkins to take back home, and catch a screening of classic 90's flick Hocus Pocus.
